A childhood in the village of Achmore among the beautiful hills and lochs of northwest Scotland has had a consistently strong influence on the work of Charlie Parsons. Paint was always there among the ink, charcoal and graphite, but while studying at Duncan of Jordanstone, it was digital illustration that became the focus. This led to the creation of Summon Portraits and the production of fantastical and outlandish digital portraiture.

Now, almost a decade after graduation, the return to oils and stretched canvas comes with a bold new approach to colour and composition applied to the familiar setting of the Scottish landscape. Charlie Parsons works out of his studio in Carnoustie, on the east coast of Scotland.
